Poetry on a Snow Day

Rose and Rita are writing poetry this morning as we stay home from school

Rose and Rita and our neighbor Sarah have been planning a performance that they say they'll perform "in about a year when Sarah is 6 and R & R are 7 or around Christmas" (next week). This morning Rita and Rose went downstairs to work on songs for the show. Here are some poems Rose wrote:

Ocean Spray
I love my o,
I love my my my
I love my ocean
I love the way it sings like a whale
I love my ocean
I love how it blows like a flower In my ear
O I love it so much, it could be 100 things
O I love the way the oceans spray
I love it
I love it
It's a lot in my heart.

Blue Sky
Blue blue blue blue blue blue
I love the blue sky in my eye
I love the colored flowers below
I love art any way
And IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII love the sky
I love the blue sky
So do you

This Kitten
I know a lot of kittens but
The one I love the most is this kitten
She knows me
I know her
We do a lot together
She's sweet as a violet
I'm as sweet as a rose
We do lots of things together
I love this kitten.

Monday Girl
I know a girl from a happy street
Candy from Monday Girl
She wears a red tutu
Music is everywhere when she's there
She has black hair and a pink bow.
Kids from all over the world
Come to get her candy and ice cream
For only ten cents.
Wherever she goes there's music
From her beautiful candy cart.
