Ann Arbor, Michigan: Much to Like

I had a double reminder tonight of how lucky I am to live here.

The Ann Arbor Summer Festival—23 days performing artists, outdoor movies, food, and more located 10 minutes walk from home—ended a few days ago. In two days, Ann Arbor will be flooded with 500,000+ visitors drawn to the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair. Carol, the kids, and I just got back from from the traditional "Townie" party thrown the Monday before the start of the art fair. Carol and Frankie rode bikes, the girls and I walked.

On the way home, I was thinking how nice it was to have live music, food, games for kids, etc., on a beautiful campus and just a few minutes walk from home. So, I was in the right frame of mind to discover a short e-mail note, recently sent out by Ann Arbor SPARK, highlighting a few cool Ann Arbor tidbits:

  • Ann Arbor USA is rich, rich, rich in talent. Get a 30-second overview at www.annarborusa.com/talent and pass it along to someone who needs to know.
  • By the way, did you know that Ann Arbor was recently named the 3rd smartest city in the nation?
  • Who says Ann Arbor is on the verge of becoming one of the world's hot spots for business start ups? Fast Company magazine. Read about it here.

Oh, and did I mention Wolverine sports?  :)
