Rita Continues to Improve and We Just Might Stay Sane

We continue to get good reports on Rita. Her kidney function is stable and soon we'll be able to stop giving her shots.

Both girls have established pretty regular sleep habits during the night but their days are still unsettled. When they have a day with little sleep, we pay a price in the evening with lots of wailing until around 11:00 PM. For everyone's sake, we're trying to establish better napping patterns during the day.

Frankie came down with a bad cold about 10 days ago. Rita was the next to get it, followed by Carol and Andy. Rose seems to have escaped the attack. Carol and Frankie were hit hardest. Thanks to Pat (Andy's mom) we are all on the mend. She came to our rescue late on Sunday night and stayed for a couple of days so we could catch up on sleep.

Aside from sickness, Frankie is doing very well. He continues to be a big talker and he wants the people around him to talk as well. He'll often tell an adult companion what they should say so he can have an entertaining conversation. Minutes ago, he was overheard telling Judit, his baby sitter, "Want Judi to say 'when you are walking down the street it takes a lot of trucks to dig up the road'."

Overall, we're slowing getting the hang of this parents-of-three thing, but we feel extremely fortunate to be getting help from so many friends and family members along the way. We've had people make us dinner, do the grocery shopping, stay overnight to help with babies, stay during the day to help with babies, help take kids to doctor visits, and more. Just to give you an idea of how much help we've been getting, here is a list of the people (as far as we can remember--if we missed someone, please remind us!) that have given one of the girls a bottle.

Pat Seidl

Frank Seidl

Charles Neubrecht

Beatrice Newell

Nancy Stier

Jim Stier

Hannah Stier

Mary Wittenberg

Lori Seidl

Beth Teachout

Karl Seidl

Judit Abraham

Sue Britton

Kathleen Beck

Dave Overlander

Chris Holden

Sara Ljungman

Emily Ljungman

Renee Mueller

Barb Wetula

Stef Kopka

Mary Beth Seifert

Kirsten Osborn

Thanks everyone!
