       </item><item><title>Voice Mail</title><link>http://seidlweb.com/public/item/8722</link><description>Business trips get a litte easier once the kids can use the phone.&lt;p&gt;I recently spent three days in Boston for a series of business meetings and to attend the first ever &lt;em&gt;Weblog Business Strategies&lt;/em&gt; conferene.&amp;nbsp; The hardest part of business travel is leaving the kids when they don't understand why you're going or when (or if) you're coming back.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I remember going through that with Frankie before he could understand that I was, indeed, going to come back.&amp;nbsp; Rita and Rose are just at the point where they are aware enough to miss me but not able to understand anything about whether or not I'm coming back.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The telephone is a great invention.&amp;nbsp; Once Frankie started to get the hang of it, it made business travel much easier.&amp;nbsp; Now, he's getting the idea of voice mail.&amp;nbsp; Check out the link below to hear a voice mail he left me when I was in Boston (I returned the call immediately and we did get to talk).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For the first time, Rita and Rose were visiblly excited to see me when I returned home.&amp;nbsp; They stopped eating (it was the middle of dinner) until I came and said hello to each of them.&amp;nbsp; Then they were all smiles and giggles.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I guess it won't be too long before they are using the telephone, too.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;h3&gt;See Also&lt;/h3&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;a href="http://faseidl.com/news/rita-and-rose/2003-06-09-VoiceMail.wav" target=%quot;_blank%quot;&gt;Voice Mail&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Message from Frankie&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;</description><guid isPermaLink="true">http://seidlweb.com/public/item/8722</guid><pubDate>Tue, 17 Jun 2003 11:04:44 -0400</pubDate>
